Tennis instruction in the US runs from a certified teaching pro giving private lessons on a park court to full academies with fitness staff, boarding and tournament travel. Private lessons are priced per hour, semi-private and group clinics cost less per player, and most clubs run junior programs after school and adult drills in the evening. The USTA organizes the national rating (NTRP) and the adult and junior leagues most players join; the USPTA and PTR certify coaches. Summer camps take kids by the week or the day and usually include lunch and match play. Stadiums and event venues host college matches, USTA sanctioned tournaments and the occasional exhibition, with free or low-cost admission for most of them.

We had a wonderful experience with the kindergarten summer camp at the Taylor YMCA! Sending a kindergartener to camp for the first time can feel like a big step, but the staff and counselors made the transition smooth and welcoming from day one. The daily structure is fantasticβ€”a great balance of outdoor play, arts and crafts, water activities, and structured games that kept my child engaged and energized all day. Communication from the camp team was clear and organized, and drop-off/pick-up was always seamless.

It is an amazing place, but they do not allow our child to wear the same Float Vest that we have, being in the pool, the lifeguards interrupt very frequently the relaxing and fun moment for all the people that are in the pool because we have to get out of the pool many times. I wish those rules being reviewed, so we as family could enjoy more.

I’m disappointed that one of my favorite instructors is no longer teaching at Taylor Y. I had a good Monday routine. I hope management does more to retain good people. Also bathrooms need updating, stalls are old and dingy and the steam room has been broken for over a year. Facility overall is very dated and they charge too much for what its worth

Employees are really into themselves here and can at times be annoying. It is also quite crowded. However I do really enjoy it here. Nice pools including baby pool. Great gym and basketball courts. Just didn’t renew cause could find other things to do around town. Also don’t know why members are not friendly.

I’ve used the aquatic area for their swim teams, YOTA prep, and lifeguard training!! I have visited this facility for 4 years total, mostly because I’m a part of their swim team. The staff members are very nice here and most of them know my name (not by this Google account name), and they are very friendly. During my lifeguard training, the instructors, Sam, Lanie, and Alex, were extremely kind and taught my class very well. The instructors, with the addition of my peers/classmates, created such a positive and impactful environment for myself. Not only did I understand all of the skills taught, but I also bonded with several others and experienced a truly supportive group. Everyone was so kind, supportive, and respectful.. I don’t know how to walk away from it all. These past three days of training have made me extremely grateful for the staff and community here. Thank you!! <33
